Project 3 for Fall/Winter Coffee Lovers Hop

Hello Lovelies!

I'm pretty sure this is going to be my last project for the hop.  I know I said I'd try to keep going past the official linky closure, but I'm behind in all-the-things! 😫

I have partial projects from years past that I hoped to finish, but let's review at the next one?

This one is for the tea drinkers out there.  I used the teapot stamp and die from Stampin Up and a cup and saucer stamp and die from Altenew.  I heat embossed in black on the vellum with the intention of using rub-ons inspired by Sara Scraps in this YouTube video.

I cut each shape in white cardstock and vellum (although the vellum cutting turned out a bit hit-and-miss).  I'm wondering whether the magnets in my magnetic platform are a bit dodgy now?  I know you have to be careful where you place the dies, but they seemed better when in was new. 🤷

I used Glue Dots to adhere the vellum in strategic places (my Kokuyo dot roller goes on as tiny pink hearts which will show for sure!!) then I layered up some standard card bases (one tent fold and one landscape) with 6x6 paper (and a doily) and stamp sentiments from the Vintage Teacup set by Altenew.

I wanted to keep these fairly simple.  I prefer the red and pink one better.  Maybe it's the placement of the sentiment of the other one I'm not a fan of?  Can you see the Wink of Stella on the flowers printed on the paper?  A subtle detail, but I liked it a bit better after that.  Maybe I just need to keep adding MOAR?!

OK now to the giveaway part:

Cards For a New Baby Girl Part I

On Friday, the arrival of our new niece was only 24 hours away so my sister Helz and I had congratulatory cards to make.

Hels picked this baby mobile card on pinterest made by Tilly McLeod.  Please visit her blog and check our her amazing crafts.  Thanks for the inspiration, Tilly!

Helz wanted a colour scheme of mint green, pale purple and light grey.  Mint Macaron, Wisteria Wonder and Smoky Slate were perfect.

"Do Stampin' Up! alliterate EVERYTHING?" asks Helz.  Blushing furiously I had to answer in the affirmative.  It's one thing I'm not hugely fond of I have to admit.

Helz wanted to use Copic markers again and picked the animals from a couple of Mama Elephant stamp sets.  She went with a 5x7 inch card to make sure she had enough room and did a great job.

Meanwhile I made a card for our parents to give.  The weather was miserable and I was lacking inspiration so I turned to Pinterest.  I knew I wanted to do a square card but that's it.  I found this card by Stasia Sloma.  The animal print onesies are so on trend and the new mum loves animal print so it was perfect!  Please visit her blog.  Thank you so much for the inspiration, Stasia!

I used the leopard print since it was a smaller scale for the onesies from the Go Wild DSP pad and a couple of different pinks from a couple of different Dear Lizzy collections and some neutral patterns from My Mind's Eye.  I'm not totally happy with the card to be honest and I think Stasia did a much better job with hers.  I love the pearl detail she used!

I might try the design again some time and see if I'm happier with it.

The photos aren't great, but evening was upon us, light was fading fast and we needed to finish!

Crazy Crafters December Blog Hop

Welcome to stop #8 on the Crazy Crafters Blog Hop for December.  You should have just arrived from Sarah Rae Oakes' Blog Stampin' Up with Sarah. To see the full list of blogs, scroll down almost to the bottom of this post!

This month our theme is three colours (plus white if desired).

I decided to draw inspiration from three of the the colours I often use in my scrapbook layouts...sometimes together but often not.

It was obligatory to have at least one shade of PINK in my colour combination so I chose Melon Mambo.  The other two colours are aqua/turquoise and grey  These were harder to pick but I settled on Tempting Turquoise and Basic Gray.

I decided to set myself an additional challenge of using as many new supplies as possible.  Not necessarily just-released-new but not-yet-used new.

The Big Shot got quite the workout for this card.  I tried the flip cards using the new Thinlits that everyone is making,  I liked the idea of the extra flap and wanted a lovely girly card which,  in addition to lots of pink and floral goodness, required glitter and bling.

The card isn't exactly how I envisioned it in my head but for a first attempt combined with my arthritis misbehaving, I'm satisified...more or less.  Scroll down to the bottom of this post to see a clickable list of supplies used to make this card.

Now Stampin' Up! has some super exciting happenings like a CLEARANCE RACK sale on 10 Dec and Sale-a-Bration just around the corner so I'm offering the following pack of goodies featuring 10 sheets of 6x6 papers in the 2012-2014 In Colours in retired designs and 60cm of each of the co-ordinating ribbons.
