Cat Lovers Hop Project #2 "That Magical Red Dot" Scrapbook Layout (Aug BOBW Kit)

Hello Lovelies!

My next project is a scrapbook layout which I started in late August with my DIY version of Shimelle's Best of Both Worlds kit.

If you would like to go to my "index" page with all the links relevant to the hop and a list of all my projects for maximum prize draw potential, GO HERE!!!

Due to the limit of 5 projects per person on the main hop link up, many of mine will only be shared here and on my socials, so please keep checking back to get as many chances for the giveaway as possible!  I will also keep making AFTER the official Hop finishes, so please keep on checking back!

I binge scrapped and finished most of the layouts, but I have a few more left and there were two cat ones in the pile.  This one was missing the journaling, but I haven't shared them anywhere so they're still legit as far as the hop goes.

I wanted to do a walkthrough on YouTube, but I still haven't finished my August kit, haven't stared the one for September and haven't even done a kit share for October.  It's been a crazy month and everything seems to be coming thick and fast this month!

I've been wanting to tell this story for a while now, and the partial use of Shimelle's die cut paper really reminded me of the dot projected from the "laser" on a Nerf!  This is Shimelle's version of the layout so you can see where mine was similar and where it went a bit rogue!

Giveaway Prizes

🐱 Update! Since my first project (the cat masks) caused so much excitement, the three winners of the physical prizes can pick a cat fabric and I will make a mask to go with their prize (if they would like one).

Please understand that I can't do it for the electronic gift card prize, since it would mean shipping costs and the value of the gift card takes into account that I don't have to spend money on shipping.  Thanks so much!

📌 I have three items (and a bonus fourth prize) to give away (pictured below) and I'll pull three names for the first three prizes.

📌For the  fourth "bonus" prize: it will go to someone who has entered the main blog hop (please let me know your project numbers if you would like to be considered.  You can wait til the blog hop is over (but before the close of the giveaway) to do this since the order changes sometimes.)

📌 The first name drawn gets first choice, second name gets second choice and so on.  Bonus prize will be TallCraftyDude's favourite project!

📌 This Giveaway is NOT SPONSORED.  I purchased the prizes especially for this giveaway.  This year I picked stuff other than just stamp sets to mix it up a bit

  2. I love your fun ideas today! The journaling is a great idea, but that layout is so fun! I love the design and the bright colors! Thanks so much for being a part of the 2020 Cat Lovers Blog Hop!

  3. So many pawsome details in this wonderful layout! And I think journaling is so important - it tells the story of your page! Just an FYI: I don't see this card at the hop - only your blog since I am a follower.

  4. That is such a fun layout and I love how you used all those different embellishments to tell the story. We had 5 cats as I was growing up, but can't have one now since hubby and daughter are allergic. None of our cats were much for playing with toys though.

  5. Love the tongue-out picture on your page! Fun layout!
Coco love some bright colored plastic springs to play with. Bought a couple of packages of them at the pet store, because we need extras! They are always getting lost underneath furniture.

  6. I really love the energy in this layout!! The colors, curved elements, and all the different chipboard shapes and sticker sentiments combine to make a unique design that really drew me in.
As for toys, my cats were never much for toys. They much preferred to scratch the furniture or pee on my scrapbook supplies, haha!

  7. Loving this layout. Look at that white chin!!! Two of my cats chase their tails - which they think is great fun. All three of them love the laser pointer but it can cause wrestling and biting, so we use it sporadically. They also love little toy mice but they have to make a sound. No sound, no playing. Thanks for the chance to win!

  8. This is so beautiful, Alex! I started a scrapbook (of sorts) for my kitties but never finished it. I guess there's no deadline and I can get back to it - I just love what you've done here, so colourful and so many interesting elements to look at, and I like how your page tells a story. My cats are all getting old (16, 16, and 15) so they don't play as much as they used to. The two boys love catnip (and catnip mice) so they do still play with those occasionally, and Snowie likes balls. My Honeydew likes to "steal" the pair of scissors out of hubby's basket and carries them back the hall and drops them off in the bedroom, or bathroom, or my craftroom. He used to do this with the rubber door stopper but I guess he likes the scissors now. I follow you everywhere!

  11. Fab layout. My previous cat is strange, my mother made her a small pillow and she was always playing with it than the toys.

    My entries numbers are: 6, 27, 52, 91 and 124.
