Hi Lovelies!

Today is Challenge 6 at Arty Divas.  This is a FORTNIGHTLY "anything goes" (any type of project and any theme) challenge with a design team who makes projects showcasing the sponsor who often offers PRIZES!

Prize:

Normally when given a set of digital images to work with where one is an outline and at least one s coloured, I choose the outline and colour it myself.

This time, there were four pre-coloured variations of the car and I really liked the way they looked together, so I decided to try using them for a change and see where it led.  I decided to fussy cut each one individually and stack them together with adhesive rather than doing it in software so that there would be a slight bit of dimension and therefore more

As soon as I saw this fortnight's Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge, the diagonal lines reminded me of
tyre treads.  I attempted to use paint and paste and one of TallCraftyDude's old toy cars to make them, but several card fronts later, it just wasn't working.

I knew the 6x6 paper from Altenew was the right choice for the front if I was going to add any kind of paint or mixed media, since it's slightly glossy and wouldn't warp.

As I was looking for paper for an unrelated project, I found an older Echo Park paper with strips that looked like the tyre treads I wanted, so I decided to cut a few of those out and instead of driving a car through paint I thought I'd use the pain in place of the two rectangular elements.  I marbled a small amount of the Finnabair Unicorn paint through some ordinary acrylic paint for more interest.

I heat embossied the sentiment in gold on some vellum, but no matter where I seemed to put it, it just didn't look right and this is the part that bothers me the most I think.

While some elements didn't turn out the way I imagined, some did, I will try mixing the Unicorn pain with acrylic again and I think I'll keep experimenting with toy cars and driving them through paint!
